Christine Shaw, PA-C, provides care with our Springfield Clinic Endocrinology team and sees patients at Springfield Clinic Carpenter in collaboration with Dr. Kevin Hazard.
Christine earned her Master's of Medical Science degree from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Ill. She has nearly five years of experience serving as a physician assistant.
Growing up, Christine was always interested in practicing medicine because it combined her love of science with her passion for helping people. "I have practiced inpatient internal medicine over the last four and a half years," she says, "and I have seen many patients with life-changing neurologic diagnoses. I decided to transition into neurosurgery to provide thorough, hands-on care for such patients both in the hospital and in future follow up visits."
Christine's passion to help people continually drives her. "My goal is to positively impact patients with each encounter and provide high quality care," she says. "I enjoy providing education to patients and enabling them to have an active role in their treatment plans."
Originally from a small town in Alabama, Christine and her husband relocated recently to Springfield to settle down, get involved in the community and build their family. In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband, son, two dogs (Bailey and Zoey) and cat (Oscar), as well as cook, take walks in parks and enjoy time outdoors.
