Shelley Scaff-Ramsey, APRN, CNP, provides care with Springfield Clinic Urgent Care Plus.

Shelley brings more than 27 years of nursing experience and 12 years as an advanced practice nurse. She earned her Master of Science in nursing from the University of Illinois Chicago and later completed a post-master’s certificate as a pediatric nurse practitioner. Her clinical background includes emergency and trauma services, oncology surgical services, plastic surgery, family practice, critical care and flight nursing. Most recently, she provided advanced clinical support in breast surgical oncology at OSF Cancer Institute in Peoria.

Shelley’s passion for health care began early while spending time with her grandmother during chronic illness and hospitalizations. Those experiences inspired a lifelong interest in medicine and a career devoted to caring for others. Throughout her career, she has found the greatest fulfillment in acute care, where she can support patients during some of their most challenging moments. As Shelley explains, “Acute care is so much more than medicine and stitches, it's actually taking the time to listen to patients and their families, validating their concerns.” She is driven by the opportunity to earn patients’ trust, show compassion and help improve their well-being when they need it most.

Outside of work, Shelley is actively involved in the breast cancer survivor community and has participated in medical mission work through Friends of the Children of Haiti (FOTCOH). She also enjoys supporting animal adoption organizations. In her free time, she loves gardening, spending time on the water and RV camping with her family. Shelley and her husband have four children and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first grandson.
