Sean O’Malley, MD, provides care with the Springfield Clinic's General Surgery Department and sees patients at Springfield Clinic 1st - 900 Building. Dr. O'Malley provides comprehensive general surgery services, including breast surgery.

Dr. O'Malley earned his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. 

Dr. O'Malley's desire to help people solve complex problems led him to health care. "I initially considered engineering, but I wanted to interact with people daily, so I naturally landed in medicine," he says.

His passion for surgery stems from his hands-on approach to problem solving. "Surgery was the perfect match for me because I’m a pragmatic person who loves working with my hands and tackling complex challenges," he explains.

Born and raised in central Illinois, Dr. O'Malley looks forward to caring for his community. "I plan to spend time getting to know my patients to come up with a solution that's perfect for them," he says.

In his free time, Dr. O'Malley enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, playing golf and visiting the farmer's market on weekends.
