Springfield Clinic Sports Medicine announced today a new collaboration with Sacred Heart-Griffin High School (SHG) and HSHS St. John’s Hospital AthletiCare. In September, Springfield Clinic will provide orthopedic services at the current AthletiCare facility on the SHG campus, located at 1603 W. Washington St.
These services will not only be available to the general public, but will also provide easy access to important specialists for high school athletes, coaches, students and faculty. By offering clinic hours on the SHG campus, Springfield Clinic orthopedics physicians, and other specialists, will be readily available to assist injured athletes, to get them the treatment they need for a speedy recovery.
Starting next month, Christopher Wottowa, MD, and Diane Hillard-Sembell, MD, will each provide orthopedic services one afternoon per week at the SHG location. In addition, Joseph Conlon, MD, will also hold pediatric dermatology clinics there twice each month.
“Springfield Clinic is so happy we can provide support to our local community through collaborations like this one,” said Dr. Wottowa, who will now serve as the team physician for SHG athletics as a result of this partnership. “Our sports medicine program has grown a great deal over the years, and continues to evolve. This new partnership with SHG and AthletiCare is another way in which the Clinic will provide value to our community and we look forward to seeing these relationships grow as we move forward.”
