Rebecca “Becky” Harris, APRN, CNP, provides care with the Orthopedics team. She currently sees patients at Springfield Clinic 1st - 800 Building. She collaborates with William Payne, MD.

“As a kid, I wanted to be a nurse,” says Becky. “My older brother has special needs, and I took a role in helping him despite being younger. It is just what I was naturally good at.”

Growing up in Mason City, Ill., Becky moved to Springfield straight out of high school to start her nursing career. She has more than 20 years of nursing experience and joined Springfield Clinic in 2008 as a registered nurse before becoming a nurse practitioner for Springfield Clinic in 2017. She originally started in the Springfield Surgery Center (formerly the Ambulatory Surgery & Endoscopy Center) while working towards her nurse practitioner degree and licensure.

“I enjoy making people feel better, even if that just means listening to people,” says Becky. “I just want to take the time to hear what my patients need to say and help them feel heard.”

Becky earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University in Downers Grove, Ill.

In her free time, Becky enjoys camping and boating with her husband and family at Otter Lake in Girard, Ill. She also enjoys setting aside time to read.
