Michelle (Shelley) Baker, APRN, CNP, provides care with the Springfield Clinic Trauma & Acute Care Surgery team at HSHS St. John's Hospital.
Shelley earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill., and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. She has seven years of experience in advanced practice nursing, serving communities throughout central Illinois.
Shelley was driven to a career in health care after she was involved in an accident in high school. "The level of compassion, care and comfort from every medical professional I encountered helped guide my horrible situation in a positive light," she says.
Focused on providing highly personalized care, Shelley works to treat her patients as humans first. "I like to work with each patient, helping their mind, body and spirit throughout their care experience."
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her three daughters and husband, shopping, camping/glamping, river float trips, traveling and watching Cardinals baseball. She also spends a lot of time supporting her daughters in their various sporting activities.
