Marshall Brustein, MD, provides care with the Springfield Clinic's Orthopedics Department and sees patients in Decatur. Dr. Brustein has provided orthopedic care in the Decatur area for the past 24 years.

Dr. Brustein earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Chicago Hospital. He completed a fellowship in hand/upper extremity surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. Brustein's desire to help people started at a young age. "Ever since the time that I was in junior high, I set myself up through high school and college to be a doctor," he says. "I really wanted to help people in a direct way."

That desire also led him to his specializing in orthopedic and upper extremity surgery. "Orthopedic surgery allows me to do unique surgeries that can really improve people's lives in very clear, definable ways," he says.

In his practice, Dr. Brustein focuses on injuries from the shoulder to the fingertip. His practice ranges from treating nerve damage, fractures, lacerations and much more.

In his free time, Dr. Brustein enjoys exercising, hiking, camping, fostering dogs and cats and building computers.
