Cara Crain, APRN, CNP, provides care with the Springfield Clinic Family Medicine team and collaborates with Dr. Natalie Mahoney and Dr. Mosam Patel. She sees patients at Springfield Clinic Jacksonville.

Cara earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a post-master's certificate as a family nurse practitioner from Maryville University in St. Louis. She has more than a decade of nursing experience providing care in central and west central Illinois.

Despite being a natural caretaker, Cara didn't consider having a career in medicine until later in life. "The care I received during my pregnancy and with the delivery of my son is what drove me to enroll in nursing school," she says.

Originally from central Illinois, Cara is excited to provide care and serve her community at the same time. "I am looking forward to connecting with each patient on an individual basis and working with them, as a team, to better their health," she says.

In her free time, Cara enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending her kids' school and sporting events and making frequent trips to 7Brew in Jacksonville.
