Aman Khurana, MD, is a part of the Springfield Clinic's Vascular Medicine Department.
Prior to joining Springfield Clinic, he practiced medicine for nearly 30 years in India, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Kentucky and central Illinois.
Dr. Khurana earned his medical degree from Gajara Raja Medical College in Gwalior, India, and completed his residency at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. He completed a vascular medicine fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City and a interventional peripheral vascular disease fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville.
Dr. Khurana points to his grandfather as an inspiration for him getting into medicine. "During vacations while I was in medical school, I would come back and be his helper and assist where I could with his own practice."
As a vascular medicine physician, Dr. Khurana is focused on providing a patient with medical interventions to address their issues.
"Consistent with what I do is to help patients lead a better quality of life," he says. "The gratification of helping somebody, that is something that wakes up every doctor in the morning to go to work."
While providing medical care is his passion, Dr. Khurana finds true satisfaction in his role as a husband to his wife and father to two teenage boys. He spends his free time attending his boys' sporting events and staying active.
