On Feb. 17, Springfield Clinic’s Urgent Care Plus welcomed its first patients to the new state-of-the-art facility.
“The main thing we want our community to know is, if it isn’t 911, it’s Urgent Care Plus,” says Co-Medical Director Dr. DJ Goldberg.
Urgent Care Plus bridges the gap between a traditional urgent care and the emergency room, offering care for serious or complex conditions in a more accessible, modern and efficient setting. The newly renovated facility is located at 350 W. Carpenter St. in Springfield, Ill. The facility will be staffed by three physicians and three nurse practitioners who have more than 50 years of emergency medicine experience combined.
“At Springfield Clinic, we are continuously focused on filling the gaps we see in health care throughout central Illinois,” says Vice President of Operations Samantha Johannsen. “Our brand-new Urgent Care Plus location does just that, providing care for issues too complex for a traditional urgent care but not requiring full emergency room intervention.”
The new facility will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and offer various services, including on-site laboratory, radiology and IV treatments.
“In the midst of a health concern, Urgent Care Plus is a new option,” says CEO Jennifer Boyer. “We are proud to have a team of highly qualified emergency-trained physicians and staff to ensure quality care and an exceptional patient experience.”
