We are pleased to announce that UnitedHealthcare’s Affordable Care Act (ACA) individual marketplace plan is in-network with Springfield Clinic for 2026.
Open enrollment for coverage starting Jan. 1, 2026, runs from Nov. 1 to Dec. 15, 2025. The deadline for our patients to make changes to their marketplace plan selection is approaching (learn more at getcoveredillinois.gov).
By choosing UnitedHealthcare’s individual insurance plan for 2026, patients will have access to all Springfield Clinic providers at in-network rates.
Key Changes Effective for Coverage Starting Jan. 1, 2026:
New In-Network Option:
UnitedHealthcare will join the ACA individual marketplace as an in-network option for Springfield Clinic providers. Patients selecting UnitedHealthcare for 2026 coverage will have access to all Springfield Clinic providers at in-network rates.
Out-of-Network Coverage:
Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Choice plans will remain available on the marketplace; however, BCBS will be out-of-network with Springfield Clinic providers. Patients choosing BCBS will need to use self-pay options for care at Springfield Clinic. Our Patient Advocate Center can provide good faith estimates to help patients understand expected costs before receiving care.
Plans Exiting the Marketplace:
Health Alliance will cease operations at the end of 2025, and Aetna will exit the marketplace effective Jan. 1, 2026.
We encourage patients to review their options carefully to ensure continued access to Springfield Clinic providers. For questions or assistance with billing or insurance, please contact the Patient Advocate Center at 217.793.5428.
