Springfield Clinic and UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois are proud to announce an official clinical collaboration agreement between the two health systems in the Peoria region, which includes UnityPoint Health’s three Central Illinois hospitals and Springfield Clinic’s two Peoria locations.

“We are excited to be able to give people in Central Illinois greater access to expert care by joining forces with the high-quality services offered by Springfield Clinic,” said Dr. Keith Knepp, CEO of UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois. “This partnership will allow both health care organizations to build on our reputations of providing the best outcome for every patient, every time.”

The new clinical collaboration will expand each system’s providers for general surgery, breast surgery, bariatric and colorectal procedures, and other specialty services, which will increase the number of patients served and decrease the wait time to get those procedures. For patients who have scheduled appointments at any UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois hospital or Springfield Clinic location, no immediate action is required. Patients will simply have more choices when they need referrals to specialty care in the area.

The clinical collaboration is effective June 1, 2021.
