Dr. Kevin Coakley, a radiologist with more than 30 years of experience in Springfield and who joined Springfield Clinic in May 2021, was presented the A. Raymond Eveloff Award for Clinical Excellence after being nominated by his peers. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Coakley also served our country as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy and teaches the next generation of Radiologists at SIU School of Medicine.

Each year, a physician who has gone above and beyond to ensure the health and well-being of our patients and is an active leader in both our organization and the communities we serve is selected for the A. Raymond Eveloff Award for Clinical Excellence.
"Dr. Coakley educates you and makes you a better physician when you are discussing a case with him," says nominator Dr. Gaurav Sangwan with Springfield Clinic Pulmonary Diseases & Sleep Medicine. "And, he never says no to helping you. He goes out of his way to stay overtime to discuss any cases with you."
"Dr. Coakley’s collegiality, humility and leadership further distinguish him. He regularly consults with ordering physicians and colleagues, reviews challenging cases and is always willing to lend his insight," says fellow nominator Dr. Kanchan Gupta with Springfield Clinic Radiology. "He is approachable, kind and extraordinarily hardworking. He dedicates himself fully to every case and consistently goes beyond what is expected to ensure the highest standards of care. He has also held leadership roles, including serving as President of the Medical Staff at Memorial Medical Center."
"Dr. Coakley is one of the finest physicians in the region and an even better person. His commitment to patient care and education spans decades," says fellow nominator Dr. Aaron Brewer with Springfield Clinic General Surgery. "Always willing to drop everything for a consultation, be it in person or by phone, he truly puts the patients of our community first. Recognition with this award seems highly appropriate."
