Rehabilitation Services

About This Provider

Mary treats patients who have lymphedema in their limbs, trunk, breast, head & neck and genital area and lipedema. She provides complete decongestive therapy (CDT) that includes skin & wound care, multilayered compression bandaging, manual lymph drainage (MLD), exercise, and patient and family education on self-management. She is a certified fitter for compression garments and facilitates a regularly scheduled garment clinic. She helps patients obtain intermittent compression pumps if they qualify. Her goal is to help each patient find compression garments that are functional, comfortable and effective and to develop each patient's life-long lymphedema self-management skills for optimal health and mobility.

Cancer rehabilitation is another area of service Mary provides. Physical therapy can improve mobility, function and strength for those affected by cancer treatment. She has a special interest working with women undergoing treatment for breast cancer, not only for lymphedema, but also for axillary webbing, scar tissue and post-mastectomy pain syndrome.

Mary is trained in pelvic floor physical therapy for adults struggling with urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, constipation and pelvic pain. She uses pelvic floor exercise, manual therapy, both internal and external techniques, biofeedback and relaxation techniques. She educates patients on bladder & bowel habits and defecation mechanics. She also provides musculoskeletal physical therapy for women during pre- and post-partum stages.
